Frequently asked questions

That depends on your product range, languages, channels and budget. For many SMEs, a lean SaaS or standard PIM solution that grows in stages is sufficient. We compare systems such as Akeneo, Pimcore, Stibo, censhare and ATAMYA against your use cases, without favouring any vendor.

Shared content is maintained once, with only language-specific fields translated for each language. A PIM with a translation workflow, AI translation and approval by native speakers saves considerable time. A well-structured data model and clear responsibilities are essential.

A realistic estimate is 30 to 300 person-days, rising to 600 in highly complex cases, depending on company size, product range, channels and system. Licensing or subscription costs are additional. Our consulting starts with a free initial consultation, and a complete PIM selection costs CHF 18,000.

Each retailer has its own mandatory fields, formats and validation rules, often based on the GS1 model. A PIM maps these requirements for each channel and checks completeness before export. This helps you avoid follow-up queries and delayed listings.

Swiss manufacturers supplying the EU must comply with EU requirements such as the Digital Product Passport or the Packaging Regulation. The PIM should support Swiss and EU requirements in parallel. We check this during the selection process.
